Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has expressed his support for the broad-based government, asserting that President William Ruto will remain in office until 2027.

Speaking during an interview on May 26, 2025, he emphasizes that those dissatisfied with the current administration's policies should mobilize to challenge the President at the next election.

Senator Olekina says his primary focus is on ensuring that the people of Narok County benefit from various development projects.

"That is my responsibility as Senator elected by the people of Narok. I have to ensure there is equity. It is not fair that for centuries, people from the Mt Kenya region have been benefitting in terms of roads,” he said.

He further remarked that politics transcends constitutional debates, aligning instead with the idea that it is fundamentally about interests and numbers.

In March 2025, a significant Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and President William Ruto’s administration, establishing what is now referred to as a “broad-based government.”

This coalition aims to address the nation's pressing issues, including corruption, and was born out of the unrest that rocked the country during the 2024 anti-government protests.

“We are witnessing tangible progress in Narok County, with developments such as new ESP markets, bitumen roads, village electrification, women's beading centers, affordable housing projects, and new healthcare facilities. The upgrading of the Easo Ngiro Tannery & Leather Factory and the establishment of the Narok International Airport are milestones that I fully support," he shared in a post on X.
