The KPSEA, sat by all Grade 6 learners in 2025, is designed to evaluate readiness for Junior Secondary School.
Learners are assessed in Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Integrated Science, Social Studies, and Creative Arts. Instead of ranking, the reports highlight strengths, weaknesses, and areas needing support. Teachers receive school‑level analysis to adjust instruction, while parents gain guidance on how to support learning at home.
Running alongside KPSEA, the KILEA targets learners in special needs education pathways. Its purpose is to evaluate competencies and recommend transitions into vocational training, skills development, or advanced pathways.
Like KPSEA, KILEA is diagnostic. Reports highlight learner abilities, areas for support, and tailored recommendations — ensuring no learner is left behind in Kenya’s education reforms.
For learners, it means futures shaped by strengths rather than scores. For teachers, it offers data to refine instruction. For parents, it provides a roadmap to support children’s growth.
