Mixed Reactions from Party Leaders

Following the results, the party leaders have reacted. The deputy president, Kithure Kindiki, has congratulated his party candidates who all emerged victorious, saying the victories cement UDA’s position as a formidable political force.

On a different post on Facebook, Kindiki singled out the election which was conducted in Emurua Dikirr Constituency, ‘’ Voting patterns for Emurua Dikirr have been the same since the creation of the constituency in 2013, always the runner up in the election, making a strong showing, " reads part of the post.

On the other hand , DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua, congratulated his party candidate Vincent Rotich for what he termed as a splendid performance, ‘’Congratulations DCP party candidate for Emurua Dikirr Constituency, Hon. Vincent Rotich, for the splendid performance that has shaken South Rift politics, who for far too long, in fact for over 60 years, have been left behind in independent Kenya. A score of 10,760 votes is no mean feat.’’ he wrote on his Facebook.

As the winners now prepare to take up their roles, attention now turns to how they will deliver on their campaign promises and address the needs of their constituents. The outcome also set a new tone for the future political contests, especially within the political parties.
