• The By-Elections in  Emurua Dikirr  are a result of the death of the late former Member of Parliament. Johana Ng’eno, perished in a chopper crash on February 28, 2026, in Mosop , Nandi County.

  • The Seat fell vacant following the demise of Jeremiah Biwott Toryebe. He passed away in January 2026 while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital. He was a first-term MCA, elected under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Kenyans in some parts of the country are currently exercising their democratic right. The by-elections in the following areas:  Emurua Dikirr (Narok County), Poro Ward (Samburu County), and Endo Ward (Elgeyo Marakwet County). 

Emurua Dikirr (Narok County),

The By-Elections in Emurua Dikirr are a result of the death of the late former Member of Parliament. Johana Ng’eno, perished in a chopper crash on February 28, 2026, in Mosop , Nandi County. Ng’eno, who was serving his third term as MP, was better known for his outspoken political style and advocacy for his constituents.

The two major parties drawing attention are President Ruto’s UDA party and the former deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua’s DCP party. Flying the UDA'S flag is  is David Keter alias ‘’Dollarline’’ whereas Vincent Rotich is riding on DCP'S ticket..

According to the IEBC, 3 political parties sponsored candidates have been cleared to contest the Porro Ward seat, in Samburu County. There are 16 polling stations and 6,358 registered voters.

The seat fell vacant following the passing on of the late Patrick Lerte, who died on 28, December, 2025. He was undergoing treatment at Samburu County and referral Hospital. Patrick won via the Alliance National Congress (ANC), which later merged with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA)

Endo Ward (Elgeyo Marakwet County).

In Endo Ward, Elgeyo Marakwet County, the Returning Officer, Domonic Kapiri, has confirmed that the 42 polling stations with 14,361 registered voters will conduct the election.

The previous by elections such as the one held in Baringo and  Mbeere North show the influence political parties have. These allow them to re-evaluate their strategies as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.
