• In Kasururei, Kambi Ndege, and Kale villages, over 2,500 residents including learners at Arus Primary School and Solai Girls Secondary School will soon have direct access to clean water closer to their doorsteps.

For residents of Solai Ward in Rongai Sub-County, Nakuru, the dream of a steady, safe water supply is finally becoming reality. Decades of dependence on unreliable rivers and contested water pans are steadily being replaced by modern infrastructure, thanks to targeted efforts by the County Government.

In Kasururei, Kambi Ndege, and Kale villages, over 2,500 locals—including learners at Arus Primary School and Solai Girls Secondary will soon have clean water at their doorsteps.

The milestone stems from the newly equipped Kasururei Water Borehole project, featuring solarization, piping, a 100,000-litre masonry tank, and a community kiosk. The initiative is part of Nakuru County’s aggressive water access campaign championed by Governor Susan Kihika.

During the handover ceremony, Engineer Margaret Kinyanjui, Nakuru's Chief Officer for Water and Sanitation, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to timely, sustainable water solutions.

“We are working to ensure that projects are not just completed on time, but that they serve communities for generations,” she stated. She urged residents to safeguard the infrastructure, stressing that responsible use would extend its impact.

Area MCA Nixon Morogo hailed the move as transformative, saying, “This is a huge relief for our people, who’ve long shared scarce water sources with livestock, especially in the dry season.”

This development echoes similar victories. In August 2023, Kinyanjui oversaw the handover of the Kamasop Water Project, which revived a tank left defunct for six years. “Restoring neglected infrastructure proves our commitment to dignity and continuity,” she noted then.
