Key Development Projects

Education: National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) has facilitated the building of more classrooms, school admin block expansion and sanitation improvement in both primary and secondary schools. The Fund also awards bursaries for talented but needy students in the constituency.

Sports and Talent Development:  Kuresoi South is gearing towards becoming an athletics center. The Keringet Sports Academy construction (estimated at over KSh. 1.3 billion) is the main project. It is a high-altitude training facility and is aimed at nurturing talent, creating jobs and boosting sports tourism in the region.

Rural Electrification: Great strides have been made in the extension of electricity to trading centres, schools and rural villages. This has not only provided an improved learning environment but also enhanced business activities and enabled better security night hours.

Political Character and Voting Patterns

Kuresoi South has historically demonstrated a strong and unchanging loyalty to the dominant national ruling party at each election. Voters’ love for parties in control of the national government has been clear as evidenced by their transition from URP in 2013, to Jubilee in 2017 and UDA in 2022.

The UDA party winning all the four MCA positions and the parliamentary seat in 2022 drove this point home clearly. Ethnicity forms a factor in voting Kalenjin, and Kikuyu, Kisii and other communities co-exist here  but political convenience and government alignment are what ultimately determine the constituency's electoral ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌choices.
